This report card contains test results as well as other information relevant to schools and their performance toward the goals of student achievement and school completion and is compliant with both state and federal (No Child Left Behind Act) laws with respect to report card reporting requirements. OSA has worked as a partner with the Georgia Department of Education (GDOE) to produce the 2003-04 AYP Reports since much of the data comes from GDOE. Other portions were collected by OSA from other entities in order to provide a comprehensive view of the schools, systems, and the state.  OSA, along with a large committee of stakeholders in the education communities from around the state, continues to forge ahead with establishing Georgia's single statewide accountability system (SSAS) for K-12 public schools that merges federal law with state law. For more information on this process, visit the main OSA website: www.gaosa.org.

The 2003-2004 Report Card includes school, system, and state level reports organized into seven major sections. The following provides user with an overview of the content within each section.

1.      Accountability - includes an Adequate Yearly Progress summary and a link to the full AYP report, school accreditation data, and Highly Qualified Teacher information.

2.     Georgia Tests - includes student performance results on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests, Georgia High School Graduation Tests, Georgia High School Writing Tests, End-of-Course Tests, and Middle Grades Writing Assessment.  The user can view multi-year comparisons at the school, system, and state levels. In addition, while viewing a school the user can opt to compare the school data to system and state data.

3.     National Tests - includes student performance results for SAT, ACT, and NAEP (state-level only).

4.     School Performance Indicators - includes attendance data, dropout rates, graduation rates, exit credentials for high school completers, HOPE Scholarship eligibility, data on retained students, and number of students taking the Georgia Alternate Assessment.

5.     Student & School Demographics- includes fall and spring enrollments; enrollments by race/ethnicity, disability, English proficiency, migrant, and free/reduced meal status; enrollments for various programs (gifted, alternative, early intervention, remedial, ESOL, vocational labs, and special education services); and county/community information.

6.     Personnel & Fiscal - includes such data as K-12 revenues and expenditures, millage rates, salaries and benefits for school personnel, and staff certification data.

7.     Comparability Section - provides users a means to find similar schools and compare schools on the basis of certain data.  Links to other sites that provide information on Georgia schools will also be included.  This section will open in 2005.

Assessment results andother data are summarized at the school, school system, and state level and in most instances are disaggregated (when available) by different student groupings. These groupings are based on race/ethnicity, gender, disability, and English proficiency, economic, and migrant status as required by the A Plus Education Reform Act of 2000 (state law) and the No Child Left Behind Act (federal law). For more information on how OSA disaggregates Georgia test results, click here For a detailed description of all the contents for each of these sections and rules of reporting, please see About the Report Card.
